31 Bible Verses to Remember When You're Struggling to Understand Your Disability

A Month of Encouragement from God's Word

Living with a disability can bring many questions. There may be days when you feel discouraged, misunderstood, overlooked, or even wonder why God made you the way He did.

As Christians, we can find comfort in knowing that our identity is not found in our diagnosis, wheelchair, AAC device, crutches, or limitations. Our identity is found in Christ.

Whether you live with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Muscular Dystrophy, Blindness, Deafness, Chronic Illness, Mental Health Challenges, or any other disability, God's promises remain true.

Here are 31 Bible verses—one for each day of the month—to remind you that God loves you, has a purpose for your life, and will never leave you.

Final Encouragement

If you're struggling to understand your disability today, remember this:

God is not asking you to understand everything. He is asking you to trust Him.

Your disability is not your identity.
Your diagnosis is not your destiny.
Your wheelchair is not your worth.
Your limitations are not your label.

You are a child of God, created in His image, redeemed by Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and called for a purpose.

The same God who created the mountains, oceans, stars, and galaxies created you—and He doesn't make mistakes.

No matter what challenge you face, you are able by grace.

"But by the grace of God I am what I am." — 1 Corinthians 15:10

Stories That Heal.
